Ingham's Botanical Gardens: are a great place to stop and have lunch, then visit the elaborate mausoleums in the Ingham Cemetery.

Cardwell's Reef & Rainforest Visitors Centre: don't miss the new displays Dalrymple Gap Walk is a rugged 9km hike from Damper Creek on the Bruce Highway south of Cardwell and ends in the State Forest.

Wet Tropics Visitor Centre: Mission Beach has enough day wlks to keep hikers busy for a week, stop in for a map and details.

Tully Visitor Centre: opposite the towns old saw mill.

Murray Falls: this lovely fall is 22km from the Bruce Highway.
